III. PERSPECTIVE: MORE THAN ITS HIS-STORY
7:09 AM
Past is past.
Yes, past is past, but it is still important to recall our history. and admit it or not, this generation is quite disappointing; not because we know the updates or the latest news about our favorite love teams, favorite t.v. series, romantic movies and some useless stuff, but not knowing the history our country; who fought for the freedom that we're having right now, how our heroes sacrificed their lives just to make our country be free from those who enslaved us.
But thankfully, there are still people who is reviving our history, like what Director Jerrold Tarog's Heneral Luna did. It is also quite amusing that there is still a person who brings history back to life that is almost forgotten by many Filipinos which is sad to say but that's the truth.
Heneral Luna is more than of enlightening our minds but also is telling a message to its viewers. This movie is much of an eye-opener to our countrymen. It teaches a lot of things and shows situations that our country is currently facing right now. One example is that we, Filipinos, are still the same as the people in Antonio Luna's era.
History repeats itself -this is a saying that is likely to be happening in our society or should I say our country. We don't realized that we just kept on repeating what is said to be done. We are not making our own history , we are like a "sirang plaka" who keeps on repeating. We are like the people from Heneral Luna's time that we are saying that We.Love.Our.Country yet, we can't show or prove people that we can fight for it and sacrificed ourselves to serve or protect our property. We always say that we love our country but what are we doing for it to prosper.
Besides Heneral Luna's favorite line "Artikulo Uno: Ang sinumang hindi sumunood sa kautusan ng punong heneral ng digmaan ay tatanggalan ng ranggo, armas at ipapapatay na walang paglilitis sa hukumang militar.", I will always remember a line that Gen. Luna said- "Kalaban ang kalaban, Kalaban ang kakampi." It made me think that if we, Filipinos have the courage and unity to fight our enemies that time, do we think that we'll win our independence right away: that we do not need to be slaved by Americans for years. We never know right?
Lastly, the most unforgettable line that gen. Luna said that made me feel like my heart is being stabbed by his words is- "Mga kapatid, mayroon tayong masmalaking kaaway kaysa sa mga Amerikano. Ang ating sarili." It really made a great impact to me.
P.S. It's been awhile since I started to think on how to make this entry good, but I really can't find the right words to say(type). I'm lost; I lost in my own words because I want to give justice in making an entry on this movie just like how the movie brought justice to our history. Again, sorry for the late post. THANKS for reading! :)

It was my bright idea to make our first class meeting watching Heneral Luna together. Am glad that the showing of Heneral Luna coincided with our Phillit class. Perfect timing!
